I provide in-person therapy to the greater Richmond area with an office at 7301 Hanover Green Drive, Suite 206, in Mechanicsville.
I provide teletherapy to the entire state of Virginia, Florida, and Nevada; however, these sessions will be through a secure teletherapy portal.
If you are a Virginia or Florida client, I am in network with the following:
If you are in Nevada, I am in the network with the following:
Disclaimer - I utilize two billing agencies, Headway and Alma; therefore, you will create a client account for billing purposes. This has allowed me to accept more insurance and assist a larger population as we continue to make access to care more accessible.
The cash rate for an assessment is $150.00
The hourly rate of a session is $125.00 (please note that the hourly rate is 53 minutes to allow for note-taking).
The rate for a 40-45 minute session is $80.00
At this time, I do not offer less than a 45-minute session unless there are special circumstances that have been pre-approved.
If you are new to therapy, you might feel overwhelmed by not knowing what to expect for the first session. The first session is an intake assessment in which I will gather history to assist in formulating an agreed treatment plan. This assessment will take one hour. After the end of this session, we will have established a treatment plan, and we can schedule the first therapy session.
Unfortunately, there is no way to determine how long one will need therapy as it depends on the level of care required, the individual work done outside of the session, and life events during the therapeutic process. Therefore, we will continue visiting goals and treatment progress roughly every thirty days.
I take a person-centered approach to treatment; thus, I listen to my client's goals and values to help empower clients. In addition, I believe in empathy, compassion, and autonomy when working with my clients.
I am a non-confrontational therapist; however, I will challenge cognitive distortions.
Additionally, I am LGBTQIA+ affirming as well as neurodivergent affirming.
I do not offer faith-based therapy services; however, I value and respect clients' faith beliefs regardless of denomination. In addition, I make every attempt to be culturally and spiritually competent in seeking training and asking clarifying questions in therapy so clients from all walks of life feel welcome.
